I want to help  OVFD, but I don't have training/know what to do/want to see blood/know anything about fire.

--Everyone, Ever

The Fire Department always needs more responders, but there is more to keeping the doors open and the lights on than wearing a pager and being prepared for an emergency any time of the day or night.  We need people to help with fundraising and grantwriting, logistics and paperwork, traffic control, construction and repairs, tech support, emotional support, education and outreach, and a million other tasks.

For those who are interested in being potential responders, we can help you with training and equipment.  All you need to bring with you to our training meetings is a positive attitude and a sincere desire to help your community.  We promise you don't have to see any blood if you don't want to.

Everyone is welcome at our meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month (6:00pm in the winter, 7:00pm in the summer), and attending meetings does not obligate you to respond.  If you would like more information, but cannot make it to a meeting, or just want to know more about what you can do to support us, fill out the form below to send us an email.  We're more than happy to tell you about the Department.
